Ein Kriegsschiff
My comic short for the respect.com.mx effort in Russia, co-produced with the Goethe Institut and the British Council. Many international comic artists (amongst them William Goldsmith, Igor Baranko, Erdil Yasaroglu) were invited and made comics on the subject of respect, xenophobia and such things. There are some scary fascist and rastic undercurrents in Russia today and this is an effort maybe to have some counter-propaganda. The comic will be printed in Russian, there is an english and russian version on the website. They have two additional pages that are supposed to help the mostly school kids audience interpret the story. It was a fun project and I am happy to have done the trip to Moskau, met many good people and drew a comic again. Scenario idea by Roland.

This is the comic first rendering of my current comic project. I am supposed to draw 15 pages and this is the first finished one. I hope, my cintiq pen survives this.

of sharks and men
This is a layout 0f page 4 (of 15) of my current comic book project. The short story is for the international RESPECT.com.mx effort. I know, one should not post stuff of stuff that is not done and stuff. But, It has been great fun so far and I hope I will be done within the next month, and stuff. Having done so much animation lately, good old panel work is such an ease in comparison. Extra kudos to whoever recognizes the text and author whom I am paraphrasing. (If you studied with me, you’ll have an advantage and stuff).

In einem alten Skizzenbuch gefunden. Mir ist so, als hätte ich das noch nicht onlineveröffentlicht. Damit jetzt, wo gerade der Thilo in aller Munde ist, unsere anderen Pappenheimer nicht vergessen werden.

Reminiscing: Versus 2
In 2004, my first comic book was published by INKplosion. Its name was “Versus” and I co-wrote and penciled the book with boywonder Christian Mana Nauck, it was inked by madman Michael Vogt and Sven Strangmeier made it all colorful. The book had a very cool making of part and a comic history written by überbrain Björn Wederhake. Those were the days my friend and are often romantized by generations of comic fans. In 2006, I made Versus 2, which was a give-away at the Comic Salon Erlangen 2006, when there was also the Football World Cup going on in Germany. Versus 2 was of the size of a calling card. Here I give you the full comic experience for free because all my current shit is top secret and I feel like reminiscing.

This scene will be in my next upcoming romcom with Cam Diaz and Ben Stiller. Guest appearance: Brook Leznar as the Chef in the cosy hipster jazz restaurant. Katsching!
Darth Jobs
This guy was always way too handsome and awesome for a nerd and I never trusted him to begin with. After censoring everything that is fun, now he exposed his plans to destroy Adobe, stormtroopered a journalist from gizmondo and probably will facefuck everything that stands between him and a uniform, beautyfully designed world with glossy buttons and half eaten fruits. You know, there was somebody else one time with strong charisma, a keen sense for design and a fanatic following. And look what he brought us.
Wacom and Photoshop
Yesterday, Regina, Simon, Stehphan, Christian and I were sitting in a bar in Kreuzberg. One of the subjects was that Manga Studio is the only program that allows you to “ink” well on a computer while all the major software apps suck major balls in this department. Christian came up with a sentence that lead to this cartoon. I missed the free comic book day by a day but this is supposed to be a part of it.
